6 Last-Minute Halloween Makeup Ideas

Halloween is just around the corner, and wouldn’t you know it, you have no costume! Well, worry not, because today, we’ll be looking at some last-minute Halloween ideas. These makeshift costumes are creative, iconic, and most importantly, super convenient. You can recreate all of these looks with easy to acquire makeup products and outfits. Read on to find out how!

Mime

Mime makeup is a strikingly classic look, and easily paired with an all-black outfit and hat. It’s an iconic look and is very simple to do.

1. Make sure your face is freshly washed and dry.

2. Paint your face white to the point that no skin peeks through.

3. Using a thin pencil, draw an arch over both eyebrows.

4. Apply black mascara to your eyes.

5. Above both eyes, draw a long, thin triangle, pointing upwards.

6. Repeat step 4, only this time pointing downwards, below your eyes.

7. Cover your lips with either black or red lipstick. Make sure it is a vibrant shade.

8. From here, you can add flourishes of your own. A heart on the left cheek is a classic addition. Instead of your whole lips, you can draw a heart instead, giving the appearance of pouty lips.

Black Swan

This look brings forth images of an elegant yet dangerous queen. Paired with a black tutu and fur collar, you will draw eyes at the dance floor with this deadly look.

1. Make sure your face is freshly washed and dry.

2. Apply a base of face primer. This will help your makeup stay on.

3. Black Swan is a look that should exude flawless energy. Reduce the appearance of clogged pores and fine lines.

4. With charcoal eyeliner, start outlining the iconic eye shape.

a.    Start from the inner corner of your left eyebrow and draw a vertical line along the side of your nose. Stop where your nose starts to indent.

b.    Draw the upper line starting from the inner corner of your left eyebrow. Do an outward curved shape that reaches diagonally to the hairline.

c.     At the bottom edge, subtly draw an s-curve. From the indentation of your nose, draw a curved line upwards that arches directly below the eye. At that point, curve the line out and up towards your hairline.

d.    Adjust the shape as needed, then repeat for your other eye.

5. Fill in the shape with shimmering black face paint.

6. Feather the edges with white streaks, almost like winter trees at the top of your eyes. From the outer corner of your eyes, draw more feathery lines curving upward.

7. Accent your makeup with sparkles and highlights.

8. Apply vibrant red lipstick.

9. This is optional, but if you have red contact lenses, this will give an ethereal quality to your look.

Cute Cat Girl

A quick and cute Halloween costume, all you need is a fur collar, cat ears, a black full bodysuit, high heels, and a fur collar. The makeup is also one of the simplest on the list, and can easily be adjusted to your personal sense of style.

1. Make sure your face is freshly washed and dry.

2. Apply subtle black eyeshadow above and below your eyes.

3. Draw thick lines along with the shape of your eyes and have them lash out.

4. Color the bottom of your nose and upper lip black.

5. Draw whiskers on your face.

Fairy

An enchanting look with outfits that are easy to gather from the costume store. The makeup for this is also magically simple.

1. Make sure your face is freshly washed and dry.

2. Apply a base face primer to reduce pores and fine lines.

3. Apply a subtle white eyeshadow under your eyes.

4. Above your eyes, apply a vividly colored eye shadow of your choice. Green is a classic Tinkerbell look, but you can be creative

5. Outline simple fairy wings on the outer corners of your eyes with a color of your choice.

6. Fill in the wings with your chosen color.

7. Apply a subtle pink blush to both cheeks.

8. Use a natural color of lipstick to bring attention to your eyes.

Corpse Bride

There is beauty even in death. All you need is a white dress, a blue flower tiara, and a tattered veil for this spooky look. The star of the show here will be your eerie makeup.

1.    Make sure your face is freshly washed and dry.

2.    Cover your face in very subtle and light blue face paint. It should look as natural as possible.

3.    Draw long and slender black eyebrows.

4.    Apply black eyeshadow under your eyes.

5.    Use black mascara to make your eyelashes look more fantastical.

6.    Apply a dark blue eyeshadow above your eyes.

7.    Shade your cheeks with a dark blue blush and make them look higher.

8.    Apply a matte pink lipstick, and draw it in a “cupid’s bow” shape.

Jack-O-Lantern

Returning to the spooky origins of Halloween tradition, the Jack-O-Lantern makeup is the most complex yet most thematically appropriate costume on this list. Whether you’re in a classy getup or a simple black bodysuit, this makeup will scream Halloween.

1.       Make sure your face is freshly washed and dry.

2.       Paint your face bright orange, just enough that no skin peeks out.

3.       With a darker orange, start drawing subtle pumpkin lines down your face.

4.       Outline a black triangle around your left eye and fill it with a matte black.

5.       Repeat Step 4 on your right eye.

6.       Paint the middle of your nose a matte black, except for the bottom and the outermost sides. It should look like a triangle.

7.       Outline the shape of a Jack-O-Lantern mouth, starting slightly past the outer corner of your eyes. This can be traditional with square teeth, or jagged for an edgier look.

8.       Fill the mouth shape with a matte black.
