But for most of us, we’ll soon be saying sayonara to crop tops, shorts, sunny vacations, and summer barbeques. But with the new season comes new trends! We already celebrated the end of the season by going over the Top 10 Makeup Trends of Summer 2023. But what better way to welcome the start of fall by discussing this fall’s upcoming fashion trends!

Patchwork Leather

When people usually think of leather, they think about motorcycle gangs wearing black vests with a large design on the back. Well, this fall is bringing an unexpected twist to a classic material. Soon, we’ll be associating leather with sophistication, elevation, and elegance. We’ll be seeing some unexpected cuts and elevated details on leather pieces and some bright colors such as red, blue, and green. Leather blazers with matching maxi skirts are also going to make an appearance this fall, allowing for sleek and ladylike silhouettes and adding contrast and interest.

Delicates

Sheer and lace fabrics are already gaining popularity as we enter the new season. Light, silky fabrics add an air of girlishness and sensuality. This trend contrasts against the classic warmer textures of the colder seasons, which makes this look stand out against the crowd. If lace isn’t your thing, you can also try sheer pieces to achieve the same effect.

Power Dressing

Most people know about the popularity of oversized blazers and wide leg pantsuits, but be prepared to reunite with an older trend this upcoming fall. Power dressing is back! Pinstripe pencil skirts and blazers with sharp lines not only accentuate the waist, but they also add a heightened sense of glamor. Chunky cuffs and sheer stockings also add to this office-core trend.

Hot Red

Every season has a color that takes the industry by storm. Last summer, it was Barbie pink. This fall, however, is going to bring in shades of bright, hot red. Whether outfits have a quick flash of fire or entirely red pieces, red is most likely going to be the staple color of the season.

Dark Romance

Ever heard of dark academia? Thanks to TikTok, dark academia became a big trend with the younger generation. This year, we’ll be seeing a similar fashion trend. Dark romance is the romantic side of dark academia. Imagine dreamy, ethereal pieces taking a darker turn. Victorian-inspired details, laces, and rosettes are classic staples for this look.

Circle Skirts

Mini skirts were all the rage this past summer. But now we’re taking a step back and revisiting a 1950’s-era style with the circle skirt. Circle skirts embrace femininity and can be worn with practically anything. They can be paired with over-the-knee boots or even kitten heels. Whatever your personal tastes are, anyone can pull off circle skirts.

Butter Yellow

Butter yellow is the perfect color for those who love neutral shades, but want to add a slight pop of color now and again. This creamy hue matches most skin tones, making it a perfect universal shade. Yellow is also a classic mood booster, reminding us of sunshine and positivity, which is perfect for when nights get longer and days get darker. This shade also lets any other color you’re wearing really stand out. Whether you have a white top or black bottoms, adding a hint of this yellow makes those pieces really the center of attention.

Olive Oil Green

Like butter yellow, olive oil green is another neutral shade that can compliment any other color. This creamy, yellowish tint can skew towards neon vibrancy or read as a subtle near-neutral, making it the perfect color for any look and style. If you want to stand out from the crowd or if you want to create a completely neutral look, this color is meant for you.

Back to Basics

You know those solid colored t-shirts and plain jeans you have in the back of your wardrobe? Good news! They’re back in fashion. They’ve always been staples of our closets, but now instead of wearing them only when it’s laundry day, you can wear them out knowing that they’re trending! Classic button-down shirts, oversized blazers, wide-leg jeans are all part of this trend.

Some of us might not like the darker, colder days that are about to come. However, we can all agree that fall brings some of the best fashion trends. From patchwork leather to sweater dresses, be prepared to see some major changes in the fashion industry this season.
