Meet Megha! We had the pleasure of preparing her bridal look for her big day. She got married at The Rockleigh, an elegant venue in New Jersey. In this exclusive interview, she talks about her ceremony, preparations, inspirations, and her experience with Cinderella Bridez.

Q: What bridal look were you going for? Glamorous and bold? Simple yet elegant?

Megha chose a traditional, but soft glam, look for her wedding. She wore a beautiful red lehenga paired with green and gold jewelry. For her reception, she decided on a fully glamorous, elegant look! She wore a soft pink dress with matching silver jewelry.

Q: How/where did you get inspiration for your wedding day look?

Like most of our brides, Megha got her inspiration from Instagram. She followed various wedding vendors, photographers, and dress designers to see what their brides and models were wearing. Instead of finding inspiration from one look or style, she found bits and pieces from different photos to create her final look.

Q: How did you get your skin ready for your makeup look? (skincare, dermaplaning, etc.)

Even before her wedding, Megha has had a very strict skin regimen. Her skincare routine after cleansing consisted of a moisturizer, sunscreen, and retinoid. For hydration, she decided to add a hyaluronic acid serum, which also helps to reduce skin wrinkles and lines. For the month leading up to her wedding, she drank a lot of water and ate a lot of fruit, which also helped to keep her skin plump and hydrated.

Q: How did you handle any stress (if you had any) while getting ready for your wedding?

Because she spent most of her days planning for her wedding, Megha never really had the “time” to feel stressed. During the morning of her big day, she felt calm and at ease. There was, however, one temporary moment while she was getting ready that caused her some anxiety. Barbie asked her if she had clips to apply her dupatta for her headpiece. Megha had forgotten all about them, and she mentally panicked for a second. She wondered, “Where would I get those clips? Where do I get a sewing kit?” However, Barbie came prepared with her own clips and immediately figured out how to sew them onto her dupatta, completely removing Megha’s distress.

Q: Where did your wedding take place? What made you decide to choose this venue?

Megha’s wedding took place at The Rockleigh. She isn’t from New Jersey, so she found this venue option through Instagram. When she visited, she saw that this location was exactly what she wanted. It had a beautiful ballroom with classy chandeliers hanging above. She also describes the staff as very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating, so she immediately knew that this venue was where she wanted to have her wedding.

Q: Where did your guests travel from?

Her guests traveled from all across the United States and even abroad. Because Megha is from Pennsylvania, most of her guests also traveled from there; however, some of them came from New Jersey, New York, Georgia, California, and Florida. Her guests that came from abroad traveled from Canada and India.

Q: How did you prepare for your wedding ceremony? What aspects did you consider for your wedding?

As soon as she got engaged, Megha started planning for her wedding. She first booked the venue, and immediately reached out to other vendors, such as Cinderella Bridez. Since her wedding was only one year away, she knew that it would have been difficult getting vendors if she and her husband waited any longer to book them. After finalizing the venues and vendors, she and her husband began looking for outfits and planning the smaller aspects of their wedding.

Megha and her husband paid especially close attention to the outfits they wanted to wear. Since COVID-19 was still lingering, she couldn’t go to India to physically see the dresses she wanted. She luckily found her wedding and reception dresses in New Jersey and New York, but she also had to coordinate the outfits of her entire family. She worked with her mom’s friend, who helped her Facetime and message her family from India via Whatsapp. She was able to digitally plan out and buy their outfits this way.

In the midst of her planning, Megha had to move to a different state and start a new job. Because of this, a lot of the larger tasks for her wedding were delegated to friends and members of her family. Her parents helped decide food vendors and planned pre-wedding events since she was living far away from her venue at this time. For the month leading up to her wedding, she was working on wedding tasks each night.

Q: How did you and your spouse meet? How did you know you wanted to marry them?

Megha and her husband met on a dating app. After a couple months of talking and getting to know each other, they decided to meet in-person and immediately hit it off. Even though they lived miles away, they continued to talk every night and visit each other as much as they could. As their relationship continued, so did their feelings for each other.

Q: What are your honeymoon plans?

A week after their wedding, Megha and her husband went to Turks and Caicos. There, the two spent a nice, relaxing, and well-deserved week on the beach.

Q: Are there any moments that stand out to you from your wedding day?

Throughout her wedding, there was one special moment that stood out to Megha. As she stood on the mandap next to her husband and looked out at her guests, she saw all of her family and friends together in one place to celebrate with them.

Q: Do you have any do’s and don’ts for planning a wedding?

Megha recommends to any new brides to trust the process. Planning an entire wedding is very stressful, and she understands the desire for everything to be perfect, but it’s not worth spending all of your time and energy being overly worried. She also recommends for anyone getting married to hire a day-of wedding coordinator. Their team was extremely helpful during the months leading up to the wedding as well as the day of. Because of their coordination team, she and her family didn’t have to worry during the hours before the ceremony started. She was present in the moment while enjoying special moments with her husband, friends, and family.

Q: Why did you choose Cinderella Bridez for your wedding day?

Megha had been following Cinderella Bridez for years on Instagram. She saw that the team’s makeup styles were very versatile, so she knew that our agency would be able to create the looks she wanted. Ever since she was little, she has been interested in makeup, and she really wanted to elevate her look from her normal, everyday routine for her wedding. She felt confident that Barbie could achieve this glamorous look that she wanted. During their meetings, Megha felt that Barbie tried to get to know her as a person rather than as just a client. She recognized her interests in makeup and gave her small tips and tricks while preparing her look. The morning of her wedding, Megha felt at each because of Barbie’s friendly attitude. She also felt that Barbie was able to accomplish looks that ended up better than the reference photos that she was shown. Megha was so happy with her final results, which were better than she could have imagined.

Thank you so much Megha for this opportunity to prepare your wedding-day look as well as for this interview! To Megha and her husband, we wish you the best!
